पूस मास बीति गयउ बाग बन जागि उठें,
काकलीख बांचहिं बैठि बात आपन चीति की।
मीठि बयरिया में सुलगै अँकोरि मोरि,
निष्ठुर बसंत आयउ कहुँ टोह नहिं मीत की।
देब दनुज सर्प भूत अदभुत बरात साजि,
भोला गौरीनाथ भए देखि बिधि रीति की।
सोभा रितुराज मानि नंदलाल रचे रास इहाँ,
प्रेमिन के हिय जानि केलि कुंज प्रीति की।
कहत तुषारकबि छोड़ि सब राग फाँस,
ध्यान धरि मगन रहु छबि रघुबर गुनातीत की।

English Translation

पूस मास बीति गयउ बाग बन जागि उठें,
काकलीख बांचहिं बैठि बात आपन चीति की।

The month of Paush (mid-winter) has passed, and the gardens and forests are waking up. Sitting amidst the greenery, the birds (Koel) are chirping (singing), reading out the hidden secrets of their hearts.

मीठि बयरिया में सुलगै अँकोरि मोरि,
निष्ठुर बसंत आयउ कहुँ टोह नहिं मीत की।

In this sweet, gentle breeze, a fire of longing smolders within me. This "cruel" Spring has arrived, yet there is still no sign or trace of my beloved.

देब दनुज सर्प भूत अदभुत बरात साजि,
भोला गौरीनाथ भए देखि बिधि रीति की।

With gods, demons, serpents, and ghosts joining a wondrous wedding procession, the ascetic Lord Shiva became the husband of Gauri (Parvati), following the sacred traditions of destiny.

सोभा रितुराज मानि नंदलाल रचे रास इहाँ,
प्रेमिन के हिय जानि केलि कुंज प्रीति की।

Honoring the beauty of Spring (the King of Seasons), Krishna (Nandlal) performs the Raas dance in the hearts of his devotees just like he does in Keli Kunj with Gopis and Radhaji.

कहत तुषारकबि छोड़ि सब राग फाँस,
ध्यान धरि मगन रहु छबि रघुबर गुनातीत की।

The poet Tushar says: Leave behind the traps of worldly attachments. Instead, stay immersed in meditation on the divine beauty of Lord Rama (Raghubar), who is beyond all worldly qualities.
